Opening Flag Ceremony

1. Before beginning, place the flagpole stands on the floor at the ends of the stage.
2. The Master of Ceremonies (MC) should stand on the stage with the microphone. The rest of the Den should be in two single-file lines at the center rear of the cafeteria. The head of the line on the right (closest to the entrance) should carry the American flag. The head of the line on the left should carry the Pack flag. The American flag is always to the right of the Pack flag.
3. MC: "Ladies and gentlemen, please rise."
4. MC: "Color Guard advance"
5. The Scouts approach the center of the stage, still on the main floor, and stop.
6. MC: "Color Guard, post the colors."
7. The American flag procession passes in front of the Pack flag and walks to the flag stand to the MC's right.
8. The Pack flag procession then walks their flag to the other flag stand.
9. The Scouts place the flags in the stands.
10. MC: "Please join me in the Pledge of Allegiance."
11. The MC leads the Pledge of Allegiance.
12. MC: "Two!".
13. Scouts drop salute.
14. MC: "Color Guard, retreat."
15. The Scouts walk in their lines to the back of the cafeteria, where they started.
16. MC: "Please be seated."

Closing Flag Ceremony

1. The Master of Ceremonies (MC) should be on stage with the microphone. The rest of the Den should be in two single-file lines as in the Opening Flag Ceremony.
2. MC: "Ladies and gentlemen, please rise."
3. MC: "Color Guard advance."
4. The Scouts approach the center of the stage - still on the main floor - and stop.
5. MC: "Color Guard, retire the colors."
6. The Scouts retrieve the flags from the stands and return to the rear of the cafeteria.
7. MC: "Please be seated."
